Buying at our auction is a straight forward and easy process. Our auctions run every 2 to 3 weeks from 10 am with viewing the day before on Tuesday from 9:30 am till 4:30 pm. For the fine art and antique auctions, the viewing hours are 9:00 am till 5:30 pm.
To be able to bid at the auction you must first register with the registrar at the rostrum on the day of the auction. If you have not registered you will not be able to bid. You must register separately for each auction and may be asked to provide identification and address.
Viewings take place the day before the auction. Access to the auction house starts at 9:30 am through to 4:30 pm. For the fine art and antique auction, these times are extended to 5:30 pm. If you can not make the viewing but would like to know more about items on the catalogue please contact us and we will be happy to talk to you about these and send you any images that you require.
There are three ways in which to bid at our auctions, these are in person, by telephone or a commission bid
If you are at the auction you raise your hand on the item you want to bid for and the auctioneer we acknowledge your bid*.
If you can not make the auction you can ask to be called by the auction when your lot number comes up. We will then keep you informed of the current bid and if you want to continue bidding, we will bid on your behalf until you either have the winning bid or no longer wish to bid*.
If you can not make it to the auction or be contactable whilst the auction is in progress, you can leave a commission bid. The commission bid will be the highest you want to bid on an item. The auctioneer will continue bidding on your behalf until you either win the auction or your maximum commission amount is met*.
The payment options available are cash, banker’s draft or bank transfer.
Payments must be made on the day and before any lots are removed from the auction room.
