When is the next auction?

Auction dates are as follows: 14th April 2010. 28th April 2010. All sales start at 10 a.m.

Do I have to register in order to bid?

Yes. You will be required to provide your name, address and telephone number. This can either be done by email or in person on the day of the sale

Can I make an absentee bid?

Yes. You can leave a note of the lot number and your bid amount together with your contact details. Telephone bids are also accepted.

When can I view the goods for sale?

Viewing is the day before auction between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. or on the morning of the sale

Do you charge a buyers premium?

Buyers premium is charged at 20%

Is anything suitable for auction?

Not all goods are accepted for auction. Please call the office in the first instance to discuss what you have to sell.

Do you transport goods to the auction rooms?

Transportation can be arranged, but at an additional cost to normal commission and any other appropriate deductions. The costs of which will be taken out of the total realised by the goods sold. The transportation cost will depend on time taken and mileage occurred for 2 men and a lorry. As an average, this will be in the region of £30.00 per hour.

How do I pay for any goods purchased?

Payment is strictly by cash or Bankers Order. The Bankers Order should be payable to S H Rowland.

Do you provide probate valuations?

Yes. Please contact Simon Rowland on 07768 344132 to discuss.

Can I place a reserve price on my goods?

Generally speaking reserves are not accepted on general household goods unless they are of particularly high quality and value.

What commission do you charge?

Commission charges can be discussed on an individual basis with the auctioneer.

Are photographs of items for sale available?

For Antique and Fine Art Sales, a selection of photographs will be published on the website. If there is a specific lot which you would like to see, please contact us to request.
